From the NZIMRT President: Jill McConachie
I hope that everyone had a great Easter break and those dedicated people that toiled through it weren't too busy! The countdown is well and truly on until conference with lots of planning to be done. We have a great line up of speakers and there will also be a breast session. Saturday morning is dedicated to breast imaging and we have secured speakers to show us the entire journey of breast cancer, it looks as though it will be informative for all.
Don't be forgetting your flannel shirt and jeans for the barn dance on the Friday night and what barn dance would be complete without a mechanical bull so start limbering up! Don't worry I have checked and there is definitely someone on call at Southland Hospital in case of injury!!
Saturday night will be the awards dinner and we are going to be holding a hospital wearable arts competitions so get your team together and start collecting some refuse and ideas. There is no limit to how many outfits can be entered but they do have to be modelled during the dinner! There will be a $500 prize for the winning entry so well worth it!
As well as conference there are other board of director led projects occurring at the moment which is keeping us all busy and these include advanced practice, modality groups and training manuals for the branches so hopefully soon you will all see the benefit of these soon!
I hope that the start of winter is treating you all well and I look forward to seeing you all in Invercargill in August!
